Key Word Transformations. C1 Cambridge CAE practice materials.

Some pointers before you start.

  • The idea here is to transform the sentences given into another sentence that means the same thing.
  • Make sure that you include all the elements from the first sentence. Pay attention to adverbs of time etc which need to be in the second sentence too.
  • You can only use between 2 and 6 words in your transformation.
  • Make sure your grammar is correct and your tenses are the same.
  • Spelling does count.
  • Do not change the spelling or form of the key word.
  • Check your second sentence has the correct subject. Sometimes the exercise will be checking your ability to transform a passive into an active sentence or vice versa.
  • Find the answers at the end, so you can check your own work.
